This work is typical of Woore's style and is very similar to his window in Salisbury Cathedral which is also densely leaded and intricately painted. Woore displays his exceptional skill in rendering anatomy with the flexed muscles of the right arm of Jesus in the centre ground. Depth is achieved through the artistÂ’s selection of glass and careful application of glass paint to modulate the light as it is transmitted. This is the first work by Woore acquired by the Stained Glass Museum. This work was acquired with the support of the Art Fund with the assistance of the Esmée Fairbairn Foundation.
