Join the Florence Nightingale Museum After Hours and Meet Beloved Author, Kandace Chimbiri for a Special Book Event!
Kandace Chimbiri will be introducing visitors to her new book, The Story of Britain’s Black Nurses. This story traces nursing from ancient times up to modern day. It includes many incredible nurses from around the world: talented, skillful, innovative, hardworking, resilient. The book itself is a children’s book, but with its fascinating details and beautiful illustrations all ages can enjoy it! Kandace will go into detail about the research process for this book, and how she was able to uncover the facts needed to tell these stories. Which will include the difficulties encountered due to the attempted suppression of black histories. This presentation will be followed by a Q+A session with the author.
Doors will open at 5:30pm and the event itself will run from 6:00pm – 7:30pm.
This book will be available for purchase and signing at the event.
There will be a bar with alcoholic and non-acholic beverages for purchase (card only).
Admission to this event is free and open to the public. Please reserve your place online.
