Discover Leighton as a landscape painter, exploring his colour sketches painted en plein air during his travels.
An exhaustive short course, delivered in partnership with Imperial College London, by experts from across the country, including Tate Britain, the University of Birmingham and Sotheby's Institute of Art. Throughout 6 weekly sessions, participants will explore aspects of Leighton's landscape painting and how it fitted into the wider art world at the time, to coincide with the exhibition Leighton and Landscape, opening at Leighton House 0n 16 November.
The course will be held at Leighton House, giving opportunities to link the exhibition in light of the new information delivered by our world-class Leighton experts.
Useful information
The 6-week course takes place at Leighton House on Thursdays 7, 15, 21, 28 November and 5 , 12 December, from 1 to 2:30pm.
No previous experience of art or art history is needed, all welcome.
The course should be booked in full and individual sessions are not available.
