Create a bird collage and sculpture inspired by the museum collections.
Join Art Facilitator Sam Lewis to discover art inspired by birds and create your own art using collage and paper sculpture.
The day will include learning about how different artists have portrayed birds from around the world, including penguins in Antarctica and the colourful birds of the rainforest. Artists featured include Edward Wilson who travelled with Captain Scott to Antarctica, Frank Oates a Victorian explorer who travelled in the Americas and Southern Africa and Dorset based contemporary artist Dafila Scott who has also been inspired by Antarctica.
Participants will be able to receive their Arts Award Discover certificate after full participation in the day.
Suitable for ages 8-14 years old. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Adults wishing to participate in the activities should buy an adult participant ticket.
