Enjoy an after-hours tour and ceramics class with artist Martha Todd, inspired by the Museum’s token collection.
Relax with a glass of wine while you delve into the extraordinary story of the Foundling Hospital's 18th-century tokens in an exclusive evening tour, followed by an intimate, artist-led ceramics class.
Inspired by the tokens and by our exhibition Self-Made: Reshaping Identities, you will learn introductory techniques to create handmade ceramic pieces and have the opportunity to engrave designs personal to you. The pieces you create will then be professionally glazed and kiln-fired to create a lasting memento that explores the complex relationship between craft and self-reflection.
Martha Todd is a London-based ceramic artist who runs her own studio in North London. She completed a BA from the Royal College of Art in 2010 and is currently completing a PhD by practice at the University of the Creative Arts. Martha runs regular workshops at her studio – Studio1Ceramics – at the College Arts building in Haringey and has delivered workshops in museums around London since 2016. She also teaches regularly at the Royal Academy of Art.
