A talk with author and medical historian Kevin Goodman: Medieval Medicine: the Facts and the Fiction.

Medieval medicine did not solely consist of sticking leeches on a person, and while the philosophy behind it may be considered strange today, it was a holistic approach integrating the physical, mental, emotional, social, and spiritual.

In this talk hosted in The Commandery's beautiful medieval Great Hall, author and medical historian Kevin Goodman, hear about the reality of medieval health, medicine and disease.

There will be the opportunity to purchase Kevin Goodman’s books at the talk.

Kevin Goodman is an author and medical historian who has appeared in documentaries for the Smithsonian Channel (Mystic Britain), Channel 5 (The Great Plague and The Black Death) and History Hit, and specialises in the history of health and disease in the West Midlands.
