Uncover the impact of physical labour on our bodies
Paying special attention to those on the margins of society, Hard Graft: Work, Health and Rights is a comprehensive exhibition on the history of work and its impacts on the body, highlighting the people whose health, work and rights are often overlooked in society.
Structured around three workplaces – The Plantation, The Street and The Home – over 150 objects from Brazil, Bangladesh, Trinidad, Sudan, Peru, South Africa, Indonesia, Mexico and the USA will showcase how precarious and stigmatised workers are often denied basic healthcare rights. Notable artists involved include Lubaina Himid, Adelita Husni-Bey, Charmaine Watkiss, Vivian Caccuri, Forensic Architecture, Ibrahim El-Salahi, Shannon Alonzo, Daniela Ortiz, Lindsey Mendick and Moi Tran.
