Discover the 200 year history of one of Scotland's most renowned regiments. Housed in the former home of the , Scottish artist Sir George Reid, the volunteer run museum provides a unique and immersive experience for visitors of all ages.
Explore the regiment’s history
The museum’s Nationally Significant Collection of artefacts includes uniforms and personal effects such as soldier’s letters, and photographs. The Armoury displays weapons, firearms and medals, including 11 original Victoria Crosses.
The Moffat Trench
A full size replica World War I trench has been constructed in the museum's grounds, offering a unique opportunity to experience the conditions faced by fighters on the front lines. Get a sense of how the soldiers lived in these tiny spaces, whilst Museum Guides tell the story of the Gordon Highlanders during the Great War (1914-1918).
Garden and shop
Wander the beautifully tranquil memorial gardens which pay tribute to Gordon Highlanders of the past. You can also stop for a meal or a cup of tea at the museum's café and browse the gift shop for souvenirs.
