Gressenhall Farm & Workhouse
With a National Art Pass you get
Set amongst 50 acres of Norfolk countryside, Gressenhall Farm & Workhouse offers a recreated workhouse, traditional farm and rare breed animals.
Discover the history of Norfolk's rural life inside a historic workhouse, with fascinating objects and interactive displays. Stand in the evocative workhouse settings, face to face with projections of staff and inmates, and listen to first-hand stories, often tragic, sometimes inspirational, from the people who once walked the corridors of Gressenhall. Visit Land Girl and Lumber Jills, old village shops, a recreated cottage garden and an orchard.
This unique museum hosts a traditional working farm, home to the magnificent Suffolk Punch horses and other rare breeds from the county. You can also peek into the lives of the wild birds and animals who live at Gressenhall through nature watch cameras and explore the farm's wildlife river walk.
Gressenhall also offers home cooked food from The Mardlers Rest Café and makes a superb setting for themed event days, family fun activities, school holiday fun and courses in traditional crafts.
