Art Funded by you

A-OK Auto

John Salt, 2002–2003

© John Salt

Salt provides a documentary-like record of waste and decay. We see the other side of the American dream in this photorealist work. Based on the artist's own photographs, a slide is projected onto a prepared canvas. Then the artist paints directly onto the canvas occasionally freehand but mainly through carefully cut masking tape, using an airbrush and paper stencils.
