Constable's house at East Bergholt (the birthplace of the painter) painted from the garden. On the left is a clump of horse-chestnut trees in bloom, in the right foreground a dog lying on the lawn. Part of nine gifts to six museums by Victor Rienaecker through the Art Fund between 1923 and 1928.
