One drawing from a collection of 58 drawings, mostly of the British School, from the Herbert Powell Collection of British Watercolours. Dr Herbert Powell formed a valuable collection of watercolours and drawings. He had earlier gifted some works from the collection to the Art Fund in 1929 to function as a Loan Collection for public institutions. These works were later permanently distributed by the Art Fund amongst various public collections in 1968. Wakefield Art Gallery is currently closed and will open in 2011 as The Hepworth Wakefield.
