Francois de Troy, 1690s

© National Trust Photographic Library

Lady Mary is depicted as Diana and with a hound wearing a gold collar adorned with the Herbert arms surmounted by a viscountess's coronet. The portrait is part of a group of portraits from Coughton Court, the seat of the Throckmorton family, which testify to the links of this Jacobite family with France.
