Oliver Messel collection of theatre designs
Oliver Messel, c. 1925–c. 1975
Oliver Messel was a central figure in 20th Century British design, designing for many plays, musicals, ballets, operas and films as well as wartime camouflage and other textiles and interior decor. He is most famous for his work at the Royal Opera House and Glyndebourne. The collection includes models, paper designs, photographs, and a few actual costumes and masks.
