David Farquharson, 1888

David Farquharson was born in Perthshire and began his career as a decorator before turning to landscape painting in the 1870s. He painted the hills and moors of the Highlands, and river views in varying atmospheric conditions, in a tonal palette reminiscent of early Corot.
