This painting is one of two by Marquet from the Wortley bequest, the other painting was presented to Birmingham. The two paintings are part of a collection of 7 works presented to the Victoria and Albert Museum, Birmingham and Wakefield Art Gallery. The Honorary CE Stuart Wortley was an art historian and granddaughter of Sir John Millais. Wakefield Art Gallery is currently closed and will open in 2011 as The Hepworth Wakefield.
