Westminster Abbey from the West
Unknown artist, 1730–1740

The view shows one of the projected spires on the western towers, the projected cupola above the crossing of the transepts and nave, and the houses which existed on the north side of the nave, the apse, and Henry VII's Chapel. Houses were usually omitted in contemporary paintings and were pulled down in the 18th Century.
