The work is one of 12 proofs of the Japanese actress Ohta Hisa also known as Hanako which means 'little flower' taken by the Georges Ruider Foundry in Paris, copyright of Musee Rodin.

Hanako was a member of an acting troupe and she specialised in melodramatic scenes of death, torment and fury. Rodin strove to portray these strong emotions in the different models he made of the actress. This work is a posthumous authentic edition and all copies of this work are posthumous.
