Colonel Morris owned Piercefield, the estate close to Chepstow that their son Valentine made famous by creating landscape walks that attracted visitors in search of the picturesque. Valentine Morris Jr was also an active pioneer of Turnpike roads, and other innovations locally and a charismatic character in Chepstow's history. Piercefield and its people is the subject of new interpretation at Chepstow Museum and this miniature adds to their existing collection of a letter from Valentine Morris and an artefact from the Piercefield estate.
