Produced by the son of cartographer George Adams, these intricate pocket-sized globes acquired by Herschel House and Museum offer a summary of both terrestrial and celestial knowledge as it stood in the late eighteenth century.
The globes have been connected to Herschel via the impression of his own 20ft telescope on the interior of their case.

Recorded in the collection of John Miles during the 19th Century; passed down in the family of Mrs DT Merry; sold in 1970s to private collector; sold through Hansord Antiques.
