One silver toddy ladle bears the mark of Robert Farquharson (pictured), who traded in the city from 1841 until at least 1878. Six silver toddy ladles bear the rare mark of the unknown maker BSB, along with three pots of lilies, signifying Dundee. Finally, a gold ring bears the mark of Alexander Cameron, who traded in the city between 1823 and 1846. The ring is one of only two known examples bearing a Dundee mark. None of these makers was previously represented in the McManus’ extensive collection of locally produced silver and gold.
