Colin Reid trained in glassmaking at Stourbridge College of Art and is now celebrated for his colourful kiln-cast work.
This dish is an example of his skilful use of strips of optical glass tinted with pigment. After being kiln-cast, the piece has been polished and battuto cut, a Venetian method of marking the surface of the glass with a grinding wheel.
