Ian McKeever is a contemporary British artist best known for his large abstract paintings, writing, and for his work in photography and printmaking.
Three sets of prints make up this acquisition. Between Space and Time (1998-99) is a set of etchings that explores the theme of the title in nine contrasting works. Colour Etchings (1996) comprises 10 prints responding to Ludwig Wittgenstein’s theories on colour. That Which Appears (1993) is a set of 22 woodcuts printed alongside 80 poems by Thomas A Clark on unbound sheets.
The John Creasey Museum holds a core collection of works on paper by artists with a connection to the surrounding area, including the region of Dorset where McKeever lives.
