These two volumes (containing 170 drawings) are a unique topographical record of the Lake District in the year before Wordsworth settled at Dove Cottage.
Beaumont, although not the greatest of artists, was very accomplished, and as Wordsworth's patron and friend, had a profound influence on his views about landscape.
