The opposing armies are shown drawn up before the battle with the captions 'The King's Army' and 'The Rebell Army.' The composition of the painting is greatly enhanced by the hilly, though inaccurate, landscape in which the battle field is depicted.
Provenance
Prior to the 1930s in the possession of a branch of the Fitzgerald family, formerly of Naseby Hall.
