An illuminated manuscript of 19 leaves on vellum.
In a black morocco binding dating from circa 1530, tooled and painted with the arms of France modern. Depicts the 'Ordinances' of Judicial Combat of King Phillippe le Bel (1268-1314).
Provenance
Commissioned by Jean d'Anjou (died in1536) son of King Rene of Anjou ; bears bookplate of Charles d'Orleans (1691-1744), abbot of Rothelin and a scholarly collector; library of Sir Thomas Phillipps Bart.
