The Salt has a shallow circular bowl chased with petal flutes and matted foliate, and has four applied lion's masks.
The domed base and cover are chased with bunches of fruit and masks and studded with carbuncles. The Salt takes its name from the Jesuit College at Stonyhurst, Lancashire.
