The 'Narcissus' washstand, also known as the 'Tower House' washstand.
Painted in red and gold and decorated with slips of illuminated vellum and mother-of-pearl. The theme was taken from Chaucer's 'Romaunt of the Rose'.

The artist, 15 Buckingham Street & later the Tower Museum, Melbury Road; Sir John Betejeman c.1940's, given by him to Evelyn Waugh; by descento Auberon Waugh.
