Norwich Castle Museum held the largest and most comprehensive collection of British ceramic teapots in the world, spanning the period from the early eighteenth century to the present day and including a growing number of pieces by contemporary makers.
The four makers represented by this purchase illustrate several important aspects of craft ceramics at the time. The teapot by Keeler is functional as he specialised in domestic pottery. This is one of a group of four teapots. All four makers are of international reputation and their teapots were outstanding additions to the collection at Norwich Castle Museum.
