Much of the surface of the pool is covered with water plants. The dominant tone of the picture is green with shrubs and trees in the background. This work was presented by the Art Fund to the Usher Art Gallery on the occasion of its opening by the Prince of Wales. The Usher is now called The Collection: Art and Archaeology in Lincolnshire.
