Group portrait of the male members of the noble Venetian family in the act of worship on the steps of an altar bearing a reliquary in the form of a cross.
The three men are portrayed in gestures of reverance and meditation. The three boys to the left kneel but not in prayer, three others play with a small dog.

Gabriele Vendramin; Van Dyck; tenth Earl of Northumberland; Duke of Northumberland, moved to Alnwick Castle in the early 20th century.
