One of seven pictures in the Rothenstein collection from the Punjab Hill state of Guler.
This small state played a major part in the development of the great school of painting associated with the parent state of Kangra. This work illustrates the typically Guler use of red backgrounds and shows the Kangra style in its embryonic stages.
