The startling geometry combined with modified Japanese references and yet strongly utilitarian character gives this teapot a unique, visual distinction. 2) The enamel-set teapot was designed to incorporate a Japanese ivory medallion embellished with lacquer and enamel which Dresser almost certainly brought back with him from his visit to Japan; 3) A rounded teapot with ebony handle given by Andrew McIntosh Patrick in acknowledgement of the generosity of the Art Fund and other funders.
