Explore the Beano icons who inspired a generation of troublemakers and rulebreakers, and step inside the pages of this famous comic.

There is no age limit when it comes to breaking the rules. Indulge your rebellious side and be inspired by the original rulebreakers of the Beano comics including Dennis and Gnasher, Minnie the Minx, Bananaman and the Bash Street Kids. The exhibition will include original drawings, artefacts and objects from the Beano’s archive.

The illustrated troublemakers will be showcased alongside the contemporary artists, writers and musicians who are tearing up rulebooks of their own, including installation artist Phyllida Barlow, visual artist and satirist Bedwyr Williams and film and video artist Hardeep Pandhal.

Discover cutting-edge visual art, marvel at the art of illustration and creative writing and embrace the spirit of rebellion.
