Working from her garden studio in West Yorkshire, the designer, maker and illustrator Samantha Bryan creates a delicate, humorous yet industrious species of fairy.

Drawing from her eclectic hoard of beautiful buttons, spotted feathers, dyed leather and seed pods, Bryan lets the materials inform the personality of her fairies.

After appearing on the front cover of Crafts Magazine shortly after graduating in 2002, Bryan is now marking 20 years of making with a jubilant collection of these detailed and delightful characters. The exhibition coincides with the launch of a book about the discovery of the fairies, how they’ve evolved and their adventures so far.
