Exclusions and safety measures

Old Gala House Museum & Gallery tells the story of the town and its people along with hosting a vibrant programme of exhibitions and events.

New for 2022 is the Old Gala House Summer Art Fair, which sees an exciting selection of arts and crafts from a mix of artists and makers on show and for sale. The much anticipated annual exhibitions from local groups The Old Gala Club, this year looking at the town’s relationship with water, and Galashiels Studio Club are sure to delight again as will the exhibition by local artist Deborah Fallas. The Laird’s Room hosts an installation of work by Glasgow artist Ally Wallace which reflects his interest in Modernist architecture and the work of Peter Womersley, the architect behind the Netherdale Stadium in the town.

Admission is FREE - donations are appreciated!

Refurbishments

We look forward to welcoming visitors old and new back to Old Gala House Museum & Gallery after what seems like a very long time. The permanent displays have been refreshed and we have some new additions- including some iconic furniture by the late Tim Stead- along with an exciting new art fair and exhibitions. Our volunteer gardeners have been working hard throughout and you can be sure of seeing a riot of colour whenever you visit. There is a small gift shop in the cafe area and free wifi is available.
