Explore 350 years of social history and Quaker stories through a series of intricate embroidered panels.

Housed inside a splendid Georgian meeting house in the market town of Kendal, the Quaker Tapestry Museum is known for it's permanent display of embroidery. These beautifully crafted panels explore the Quaker influence on the modern world, from its role in the industrial revolution and developments in science and medicine, to social reform and astronomy.

The vibrancy of colour, 3D qualities and skilled craftsmanship are something to marvel at here. The panels were developed over 15 years by over 4000 people from countries around the world, bringing together a range of different voices through tapestry.

The museum also has a lovely Peace Garden and Garden Café to explore, as well as live embroidery demonstrations and activity boxes for families and young children.
