Created in the 18th century by Horace Walpole, Strawberry Hill is one of Britain's most elegant and eccentric Gothic Revival houses, home to a unique collection of Renaissance painted glass.
Walpole intended a tour of Strawberry Hill to be a theatrical experience, and the house's gloomy hall and grey gothic staircase lead dramatically to its magnificent gallery. Following a two-year restoration Strawberry Hill opened to the public in 2012, offering self-guided and guided visits, events and family activities as well as a café and shop.
