Experience Caravaggio's The Supper at Emmaus 1601 undisturbed in Ulster Museum's quiet Spotlight Art gallery, where the changing natural light will enhance and subtly alter the depiction of the famous Gospel story of the resurrected Jesus's appearance in Emmaus.
Surrounding galleries feature 20th-century and contemporary art, showcasing works by Cornelia Parker and Willie Doherty in time-based media, along with sculptures by Dorothy Cross. The painting anchors a diverse engagement program spanning all age groups throughout the summer of 2024, creating a unique art experience for visitors.
The painting in on loan from the National Gallery in London as part of their 200th anniversary celebrations, touring 12 major artworks to 12 museums and galleries throughout the UK.
