Learn felt patch making – one of the many ways to repair clothes making them even better than before.
A great way for all comers – from beginners to experts. In this fun, colourful visible mending workshop, artist Anna Chapman- Andrews will take you through a few examples before choosing a design, colour palette and techniques – from felting to embroidery – which you’ll use to make your own embroidered felt patch. All abilities welcome: no sewing skill needed. You will leave with your new patch, plus a bundle of resources, illustrated instructions and inspiration to continue making – and mending! – at home.
With expert guidance, enthusiastic support and your own creative courage, add beauty to your existing belongings and give them a whole new lease of life.
This will be a very relaxed workshop, suitable for all abilities.
Duration of workshop 2 hours
What’s included? All materials will be provided but if you would prefer to bring your own sewing kit and crewel/ embroidery threads, please feel free to do so. Tea and coffee will be available.
Suitable for 16 years old and above.
Note: The workshop space is accessible via lift. If you have any access needs please let us know so we can support you in any way possible.
About the artist:
Anna has been making and mending for as long as she can remember: learning about saws and soldering irons at her father’s knee; then as a fine art and ceramics scholar, before life aboard her first houseboat cemented her passion for creating, repairing and making do.
