The grand centrepiece is the Grade I listed Cusworth Hall, an imposing 18th-century country house designed in the Georgian architectural style. Today, the Hall functions as a museum, showcasing the rich heritage of the region and its inhabitants.
Inside the Hall
Step inside Cusworth Hall and explore its grand rooms and the Hall's Great Kitchen where many feasts were prepared. Admire the stunning ceiling paintings in the Italianate Chapel, revealed and restored after being hidden under layers of paint for 50 years.
Parkland
The Georgian house is surrounded by a park which was originally landscaped by Richard Wood, a follower of 'Capability' Brown, in 1760. Following comprehensive analysis of archive material, the elements of the 18th-century landscape have been incorporated into the garden. The Park is a haven for wildlife enthusiasts, offering a chance to spot water voles, kingfishers, and a variety of other bird species.
