Dorney Court is a characterful Tudor manor house in Windsor, renowned for its architectural importance, historical significance and beautiful gardens.
Built in the 15th century, the Tudor Manor House has been home to the Palmer family for almost half a millennium. Portraits spanning thirteen generations of the family are displayed throughout the house with paintings by Lely, Knellera and Janssen, amongst others. The layout of the house has hardly changed since1500 and rooms such the Great Hall showcases a range of original antique furniture and decor.
Dorney on film
For obvious reasons, the distinctive house is a popular location for filming and has featured in many movies including The Other Boleyn Girl, Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels and Your Christmas or Mine.
Glorious gardens
Wander through the formal gardens where ancient yew hedges and herbaceous borders divide verdant lawns. Wilder sections lead to a Norman ice house overlooking a Saxon Pike pond that attracts kingfishers, carp and herons.
A family home and working business, including the harvesting of honey, Dorney Court is only open to the public for a limited time each summer, please be sure to check with the venue for opening times. Throughout the rest of the year group tours are available by appointment.
