The museum boasts an impressive collection of over 75,000 objects, spanning an incredible timeframe, from prehistoric tools crafted over half a million years ago to objects from the modern era. Explore Roman pottery, Saxon weaponry, and medieval clothing, all telling stories of the town's past.
Local history
The museum also sheds light on more recent times, showcasing everyday items and exhibits on local industries and characters such as garden designer Gertrude Jekyll. The museum houses a collection dedicated to Lewis Carroll. The famed children's author, under his real name of Charles Dodgson, spent much time in Guildford in the company of his sisters.

The playroom offers a fun range of activities where pre-school children can develop key skills. Children should be supervised in the room.
