Peer
Peer is a contemporary art space located in a converted shopfront in Hoxton, hosting exhibitions, commissions, workshops and events.
Located in a converted shopfront in the Arden Estate on Hoxton Street, Peer is an innovative, independent arts charity whose work is lauded locally, nationally and internationally.
Peer also overlooks and maintains the pocket park and community hub, Khadija’s Garden, named in memory colleague Khadija Saye, who was killed in the Grenfell Tower fire in 2017.
Contemporary artists
In its 25 year history, Peer has become one of London’s most experimental spaces for contemporary art and has worked with artists including Chris Ofili, Mike Nelson, Bob & Roberta Smith, Danh Vō, Fiona Banner and Emma Hart among many others.
Collaboration
Working collaboratively with artists, whether it’s their first exhibition in a public art gallery, or a chance to explore something new in their practice. Dialogue is encouraged between visitors, artists and their work with a programme of talks, events and workshops which take place throughout each exhibition.
Community
Much of Peer’s programme is produced in partnership with residents, local community organisers, educators, service providers, schools, libraries and charities. Exhibitions at Peer are free and place artists, young people and local communities at the heart of its internationally recognised programmes of exhibitions and events.
