Tiverton Castle
With a National Art Pass you get
Originally built in 1106, Tiverton Castle in Devon was once home to earls and royalty, today it offers beautiful walled gardens within its romantic ruins.
Originally built as a motte and bailey castle in the 12th century, with later additions and alterations through the centuries, today all periods of architecture from medieval to modern can be seen on a visit to the castle. Once home to Princess Katherine Plantagenet, the sister-in-law of Henry VIII, it is now owned by the Gordons who open their home, and historic venue, to the public in the summer months. Please note Tiverton Castle does not allow dogs.

Tiverton Castle was captured during the English Civil War in 1645, due to a lucky shot that hit the drawbridge chain, causing it to collapse.
