An international centre of design, V&A Dundee presents the brilliance of Scottish creativity and the best of design from around the world.
The first ever dedicated design museum in Scotland and the only other V&A museum anywhere in the world outside London, V&A Dundee is housed in an award-winning building inspired by the dramatic coastal cliffs of north-east Scotland.
At the heart of the museum, the Scottish Design Galleries feature 300 exhibits drawn from the V&A’s rich collections of Scottish design, as well as from museums and private collections across Scotland and the world.
They include the magnificent Charles Rennie Mackintosh Oak Room, which has been meticulously restored, conserved and reconstructed with Art Fund support.
Other highlights range from a 15th-century book of illuminated manuscripts to a wearable AI device that monitors vital signs, a tiara boasting 2,500 diamonds to a pair of Hunter wellies.
The museum also runs an ambitious programme of temporary exhibitions presenting the best of contemporary design from across the world.
V&A Dundee was a finalist for Art Fund Museum of the Year 2019.
