Collection of Leeds and Castleford Pottery
Various, 1700–1850
A collection of 180 pieces of pottery collected by Mr C Holland Child between 1910 and 1950, and on loan to Harrogate Corporation for the opening of the Museum in 1953. There are examples of the perforated cream ware characteristic of the Leeds pottery. Mr Holland Child concentrated upon decorated examples, and thus the collection makes a colourful display. The collection is also rich in toy pottery and includes a complete toy tea-service.
