A one-off opportunity to uncover what the historic logbooks of the Morris & Co. archive reveal about the firm, the personalities and the Victorian Period.
Join Emma Hardy, Art and Design Historian, as she reveals the insights she discovered in the Morris & Co. archive during her PhD research. Learn more about how the colours and finishes of the firm’s wallpapers were influenced by the tastes and fashions of the Victorian period. Emma also looks at Morris & Co.’s less recognised designers, such as John Henry Dearle – apprentice to Morris and his successor as the firm’s lead designer.
Emma is an AHRC-funded PhD student researching the Morris & Co wallpapers with the Open University and the Sanderson Design Group Archive.
