Discover an artist's network of relationships and references in this group display
For his first institutional solo exhibition, artist Matt Connors is taking inspiration from a finding aid, a type of document used by archivists to navigate a collection, by showcasing his works alongside other artists and designers.
His abstract paintings, drawings, and sculptures refer to photography, music, Modernist painting, printed matter, and poetry, of which he is a collector, publisher, and fan. Just as his own art contains many references, he is interested in how drawing links to other people can create further conversation and meanings. Many of the works of art on show also touch similarly related ideas of language, framing and poetry.
