Photo City: How Images Shape the Urban World

From 29 March 2024
Free to all

Examine how photography shapes the way we experience our cities

Delve into the symbiotic relationship between urban development and photography from the 19th century to the present day. With over half the global population residing in urban areas, iconic city images like the Eiffel Tower and New York skyline shape our collective imagination.

Sohei Nishino contributes a new addition to his Diorama Map series, featuring a large-scale photographic diorama of Dundee. His work, inspired by aerial photography, intricately captures the city's details while revealing the broader urban landscape. The Dundee Diorama serves as the exhibition's focal point, offering a captivating portrait of the city through the lens of Nishino's experiences.
